U-M Presents – The Best Art of 2012 – Top Social Media Posts of the year! Pt 1 of 2

At the end of 2012,  a crazy year to be sure, we’re doing something extra special for Urban-Muse. We have taken 150 of the VERY best, and MOST VIRAL pieces we’ve posted on our social Networks, and put them agains the pieces that had the most shares and likes all year (thanks to our loyal supporters…YOU!) and put together what we think gives a pretty good idea what was the BEST Art of 2012.

It should be noted, all these images were posted in 2012, some of the actual images may be older as old as even 2003, but we wanted to give credit to the pieces that have helped this site explode in popularity this year.

Urban-Muse.com has been going through a transition this year, we haven’t posted as many features on the main website because most of our energy has been put towards making Urban-Muse’s social media presence world class. This year we have over tripled our fanbase to nearly 11,000 likes on Facebook and we show no signs of stopping.

In the past we would usually make only one post a day, these days the average is around 8, so our posting frequency has gone way up, and so has our user interaction.
Nearly all of the pieces youre about to see have over 100 likes/shares (You can click each one if you would like to share it again)

We encourage other blogs who like our content to feel free to share the images or rehost them, but please kindly ALWAYS credit the artist first, and after that please give us a shout out as wher you found it, it will help our fanbase grow.

Later someone posted the original image without the tag proving it was photoshopped. We actually deleted that comment because the endless comments arguing about it made it one of our most highly shared and talked about piece all year! Gotcha!

And Finally what we feel is the best piece of art we’ve posted all year This piece by Lin Ran. This is a digital painting using a fashion reference from Errikos Andreou. This caused a bit of controversy because we earlier erroneously though this was Lin Ran’s model, it is not, and the source photography was used by another artist (without crediting him) in a situation similar to the recent Art Basel Jason Levesque debacle. However Lin Ran Credits this photographer who was happy to collaborate with Lin Ran.
